About the Ontario Provincial Police Modernization Project
In September 2010, Concert secured its second public-private partnership project, co-leading the design, build, finance, and maintenance eighteen provincial police facilities across Ontario. The facilities include seven police detachments, eight forensic identification units and three regional headquarters.
The project is being delivered under Ontario’s alternative financing and procurement framework with annual payments from the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services over a 30-year term. The payments cover the design, construction, project financing and building maintenance for a 30-year project concession period following construction. The concession period concludes in 2042. The project has a contract value of $292.7 million.
Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) Silver Award recipient in the Innovation and Excellence category of the 2013 National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships (P3s).
